Due to a pipeline break creating a water outage, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the Jarrell Schwertner WSC public water system to notify all customers located along Blackberry Rd and Royal St in Salado to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.).
Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.
Affected Subdivisions include:
Amity, Amity 2, Spanish Oaks, Doves Landing, and Deer Crossing.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for human consumption. Water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and boiled for two (2) minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source for drinking or human consumption purposes.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking and human consumption. A rescission notice will be issued in a manner similar to this notice.
Please share this information with all others who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (such as residents of apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses).

Los niños, adultos mayores y personas con sistemas inmunológicos debilitados son particularmente vulnerables a bacterias dañinas, por lo que todos los clientes deben seguir estas instrucciones.
